Francesca Marcellini

Francesca Marcellini is a scientific technician and holds a PhD focused on the impact of micro-pollutants, particularly sunscreen-derived compounds, on marine organisms in coastal ecosystems across both Mediterranean and tropical environments. Her research focuses on the assessment of the effects of micro-pollutants and multiple stress conditions on macroalgae, corals (e.g., Cladocora spp.), early developmental stages of sea urchins, and other benthic organisms, integrating controlled aquarium-based experiments with in situ field activities. She has extensive experience in fieldwork and participation in oceanographic cruises. She is also actively involved in science communication, dissemination, and public engagement activities
