Mission & Vision
MarBioLab is composed by an international team of scientists dedicated to cutting-edge research and high-level education, working to envision a new relationship between humanity and the seas and oceans.
We promote a protected, restored, and resilient marine environment through knowledge, innovation, and collaboration.
Recognizing that science is essential to addressing global challenges, such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and the sustainable use of marine resources, we are committed to contributing to solutions.
Our mission is to explore, discover, understand, protect, and restore marine ecosystems, from coastal environments to the deep sea. We investigate the biological and ecological processes that sustain marine life across all levels of organization, from microorganisms to benthic and pelagic communities, charismatic species and large vertebrates.
Through interdisciplinary research, education, and knowledge transfer, we translate scientific evidence into actionable strategies that support the long-term health and resilience of the ocean.
