Piefrancesco Cardinale is currently enrolled as a PhD student within the European project "REDRESS". His research focuses on the restoration of both deep-water and shallow-water ecosystems, with a particular emphasis on Mediterranean corals. He employs a range of techniques, including in situ recruitment and aquaria propagation, as well as monitoring of associated biodiversity through environmental DNA and microbiome composition.
