ASI (Abyssal Sample Incubator)

The ASI is an innovative deep-sea instrument designed to perform sophisticated incubations under pressure conditions closely resembling those experienced in situ. The system can operate at pressures of up to approximately 300 atm, corresponding to depths of around 3,000 m. ASI therefore provides a powerful and unique experimental platform for studying the functioning of deep-sea ecosystems under near in situ conditions.

Water tables

Our water table system is a temperature-controlled experimental platform designed to maintain multiple aquaria under stable and homogeneous thermal conditions during experiments with live marine invertebrates. The aquaria are partially immersed in a common circulating water bath, with temperature regulated by an external heating/chilling unit. The system is particularly suitable for controlled laboratory experiments investigating physiological responses, stress, metabolism, behavior, and the effects of environmental change and anthropogenic pressures under precisely regulated temperature conditions.
