Gabriella Luongo

Gabriella Luongo

Gabriella Luongo investigates microbial and viral diversity, virus–host interactions, and their roles in deep marine ecosystems worldwide, from the Mediterranean to Antarctica. Her research focuses on anthropogenic impacts, including climate change and deep-sea mining, on marine microbes and biogeochemical cycles. She has contributed to national and international projects, published peer-reviewed studies, and gained extensive field experience through oceanographic expeditions.
